Apafi Manor - The home of the nobles

The Manor, built by the Hungarian princely family Apafi, probably in the 15th century, lies in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains in the Saxon village of Malancrav. The surrounding area offers amazing landscapes of unspoiled nature and glorious medieval fortified churches.
The fortified church of Malancrav is closely connected to Apafi, to this family was given the whole village by the king of Hungary.
It gives a sense of travelling back in time!
The Manor, now restored, has 5 bedrooms (1 single and 4 double) with bathrooms en suite, a magnificent drawing room, a huge library, two summer terraces and a formal garden. It provides accommodation for up to 9 people.
Optional trips:
1. Unesco World Heritage Sites. A full day trip to discover the beauty of medieval Sighisoara Citadel, and Viscri Village, a hiden gem in the heart of Transylvania countryside. Sighisoara Citadel is a 850 years old testimony of Saxon history and culture. It is the birthplace of Dracula (Vlad the Impaler) and a beautifully preserved medieval city. After lunch we will go to Viscri to visit the fortified church and the museum recreating the Saxon lifestyle. Here, in Viscri is located the house of HRH the Prince of Wales.
2. "Europe's 8th most idyllic place to live in". Sibiu, is a city of German feeling, laden with history and a vivid atmosphere. Sibiu is a multicultural city, an open air museum of Saxon heritage and a was crowned the European Cultural Capital (2007). We will visit the city's landmarks: Brukenthal Palace and The Bridge of lies and have a delicious lunch. Our next stop: Biertan. Here we will visit the ecclesiastic and defense complex built in the 15th Century in Gothic style, with Renaissance elements and listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site; we will enjoy the view offered by another typical Saxon village.
